Our clients wanted someone they could trust to design and build a new pool, and an organisation that could deliver the complete package. The design premise for this poolscape was simplicity.
Project Type: Luxury Residential
Location: Lake Hayes, Otago
Design: Natural Habitats
Build: Natural Habitats
We sought to create a functional space for our clients to entertain in and a pool that was easy to service and access. Our clients wanted a design that was able accommodate the needs of multiple generations and a pool that they could be confident was earthquake proof.
To achieve this we designed and built a garden that utilised clean lines and shapes and a small palette of high quality materials.
The design raises the pool level by 300mm, creating seamless access from the house, and a wet (infinity) edge means the pool merges into Lake Wanaka and the surrounding alpine landscape. Both the concrete and pool tiles have amazing passive heating capacity, which is environmentally responsible by reducing heating requirements.
The garden has been designed to complement the work done by Sarah Scott Architects. As the vegetation becomes more established, this private paradise will be an even more lovely spot to take a dip, admire the views and enjoy a glass of wine, or two!
