Green Roofs

Green roofs create a point of difference contributing to financial benefits, property values can rise. Studies demonstrate the quality of a building’s landscaping contributes to customers’ perceived quality of the building.

Green roofs absorb sunlight and act as insulation. This helps to maintain indoor temperatures, reducing the need for air-conditioning and heating systems.

Green roofs are natural air filters. Plants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and toxic substances are removed from the air.

Plants on green roofs absorb rainfall, allowing it to evaporate and transpire out of the plants. This reduces the amount of run-off entering the city's wastewater system.

Our green roofs are the lightest-weight on the New Zealand market because they are made from eco-pillows. On average our green roofs weigh 60kg/m2 when established. 

As our green roofs are ultra-lightweight, in most cases buildings to not require intensive structural engineering to support the green roof.

Eco-pillows for green roofs are established in our green house. When it comes time for installation, the established plants create an instant 'green' look. 

With regular garden maintenance, caring for green roofs is easy. 

As our green roofs are made from eco-pillows, they can easily fit any size roof.

Eco-pillows are made from growing media which is encased in geotextile fabric. This stops loose media from being blown around your property. 

Eco-pillows are primarily made from our unique growing media, which consists of polystyrene that has been taken from the city's waste stream.
