Natural Habitats was engaged to demolish, excavate, prepare levels, drainage, construct and plant as well as complete a range of concrete and timber works.
The vision of Freemans Bay School of ‘Engage, Enrich, Empower’ was the design driver to help align the school design and collaborative ways of teaching and learning.
The school wanted students to experience learning spcaes like the modern, activity-based designed office spaces that many parents experience in their workplaces.
Natural Habitats was appointed as the landscaping contractor to install hard and softscapes.
This unique project presented its own challenges, with a complex demolition site and strict budget. Working around class times, Natural Habitats started early and finished late to minimize disruption to students and teachers.
The design features a large deck to multiple uses, space to play, a sandpit and planter boxes.
